Update on Southern Hemisphere Seasonal Influenza Vaccination at general outpatient clinics

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesman today (July 8) announced that under the Government 2015 Southern Hemisphere Seasonal Influenza Vaccination (SH SIV) Programme, General Out-patient Clinics (GOPCs) of the Hospital Authority (HA) have already arranged free vaccination for about 44 000 eligible community elderly people aged 75 or above since the commencement of the programme on May 20. The HA expects the vaccines concerned will be depleted shortly and appeals to eligible elderly persons aged 75 or above to receive the vaccination as soon as possible.

The spokesperson said that the HA has made arrangements for individual GOPCs to display posters in prominent places to inform the public when the stock of the vaccine in that particular clinic has been depleted. At the same time, daily announcement (Monday to Friday at about 6pm) will be made to inform the public of the list of GOPCs (see appended table) that still provide the vaccination service until all stocks are depleted.
