Further implementation details of Supplement X to CEPA on testing and certification announced (with photo)

     The Government announced today (July 3) that the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China has just promulgated the implementation details of Supplement X to the Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) in relation to the movement of natural persons under the scope of testing and certification.

     Supplement X to CEPA has introduced opening measures for Hong Kong's testing and certification industry. Among others, it allows contractual service providers employed by Hong Kong service suppliers, in the mode of movement of natural persons, to provide relevant services in the Mainland. For the implementation details, please visit the websites of the Hong Kong Accreditation Service (HKAS, www.hkas.gov.hk) and the Hong Kong Council for Testing and Certification (HKCTC, www.hkctc.gov.hk). After today's announcement, implementation details of all measures relevant to testing and certification under Supplement X to CEPA have been promulgated.

     In addition, to enhance the local testing and certification industry's knowledge of the Mainland market and to introduce the implementation details, the Seminar on Mainland Opportunities for Hong Kong's Testing and Certification Industry was held on June 26. Speakers from the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China, a Mainland certification body and the HKAS attended the seminar.
