Stage 1 Public Engagement for Urban Design Study for the Wan Chai North and North Point Harbourfront Areas launched
************************************************************

The Planning Department (PlanD) today (June 15) launched the Stage 1 Public Engagement for the Urban Design Study for the Wan Chai North and North Point Harbourfront Areas to gauge the public's views on the urban design framework for the Wan Chai North and North Point harbourfront areas. Members of the public are welcome to participate.

The Wan Chai North and North Point harbourfront is a valuable stretch of reclaimed land centrally located in Victoria Harbour, and presents a unique opportunity to "re-connect" people to the waterfront. The reclamation and construction works are set for gradual completion from 2017 onwards. The purpose of the Study is to work out a sustainable urban design framework and to formulate comprehensive planning and design briefs to guide future developments and harbourfront enhancements to make the Wan Chai North and North Point harbourfront areas attractive, accessible, vibrant and sustainable for public enjoyment.

The Stage 1 Public Engagement will last for two months. Activities including briefings, workshops and on-site public events will be conducted. Details of the activities and the public engagement digest are available on the Study's website (wcnnpuds.hk/). Members of the public are invited to send in their comments on or before August 15 through:
