Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a media session in Toronto today (June 8, Toronto time):

Reporter: Mr Leung, Tony from South China Morning Post. In the past, some people say if the political reform fails, it will affect the investors' will to invest in Hong Kong. So did you talk about this topic today or what is the question from the US and Canadian business and political leaders?

Chief Executive: Our Canadian friends, including Hong Kong business people who live in Canada, are full of optimism about the future of Hong Kong's economy, and they are even more optimistic about the prospects of further co-operation between Hong Kong and Canada. And there was no discussion at all between us and the business sector in Canada about the implications or ramifications of the Government's constitutional development proposal not going forward.

(Please also refer to the Chinese portion of the transcript.)
