The Hospital Authority (HA) today (June 5) received confirmation from the Medical Council of Hong Kong (MCHK) on the renewal applications for practice with Limited Registration of five non-local doctors. The five approved non-local doctors are working in anaesthesia (two), emergency medicine (two) and family medicine (one) departments.
The HA spokesman said currently there are total 13 non-local doctors working in public hospitals under Limited Registration to help alleviate the frontline pressure and workload in the specialties of anaesthesia, emergency medicine, family medicine and internal medicine in public hospitals.
The HA will continue to exhaust every effort to attract fully registered local doctors and retain public doctors. Meanwhile, the HA would like to express its appreciation to all doctors for their commitment and contribution to serving the public under manpower constraint.
