EDB invites public views on report submitted by Committee on Free Kindergarten Education
************************************************************

The Committee on Free Kindergarten Education submitted a report to the Education Bureau (EDB) today (May 28) and made recommendations regarding the future direction of kindergarten education.

The full report and the executive summary have been uploaded to the EDB's website (edb.gov.hk/en/edu-system/preprimary-kindergarten/kg-report/index.html) for access by the public.

"The EDB welcomes views from the public on the recommendations set out in the report. Upon examining these recommendations together with the public views collected, we will formulate policies and specific measures as appropriate and draw up an estimate of the resources required. In working out such policies and measures, we must take into account all relevant factors, including the sustainable development of quality kindergarten education, the Government's financial commitment as well as parents' choice and affordability to parents, so that a reasonable balance can be achieved," an EDB spokesman said.

Members of the public are invited to send their views to the EDB by post (Kindergarten Special Duty 2 Section, Special Education and Kindergarten Education Division, Room 1431, 14/F, Wu Chung House, 213 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai), by fax (3106 4733) or via email (kgreport@edb.gov.hk) by 6pm on July 31, 2015.
