The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, concluded her visit to Europe in Venice, Italy today (May 8, Venice time).
In the morning, Mrs Lam met with representatives of the Veneto Regional Government and Veneto Promozione to explore ways to further enhance economic and trade relations as well as to learn more about the Veneto region and their experience of taking part in the Milan Expo 2015. The meeting was followed by a visit to the Aquae Venezia 2015 ¡V the only pavilion of the Milan Expo umbrella outside Milan.
After attending a luncheon organised by the Veneto Regional Government, Mrs Lam joined a tour organised by the Venice Biennale together with the M+ Executive Director of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA), Dr Lars Nittve, to visit the pavilions of different countries and regions at the Biennale.
Mrs Lam will attend a cocktail reception and M+ VIP dinner organised by the WKCDA and the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (HKADC) this evening. The dinner will be attended by around 150 members of the local and international arts community and the media, who will gain a better understanding of the Hong Kong art scene and related infrastructure through interactions with Hong Kong delegates including the Chairman of the HKADC, Dr Wilfred Wong, Chairman of the Museum Committee of the WKCDA Board, Dr Victor Lo, and Board Member Mr Adrian Cheng.
Mrs Lam will depart for Hong Kong tomorrow morning (May 9, Venice time) and arrive in Hong Kong on Sunday morning (May 10).
