The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (May 8) invited tenders for the contract for the Kai Tak Development - Stage 3 Infrastructure Works for Developments at the Southern Part of the Former Runway.
The works mainly involve:
* widening and re-alignment of Shing Cheong Road and Cheung Yip Street;
* construction of a supporting underground structure underneath Shing Cheong Road and Cheung Yip Street;
* construction of enabling works for two hospital subways underneath Shing Cheong Road; and
* ancillary works including associated footpaths, street lighting, traffic aids, drainage, sewerage, water mains, district cooling mains and landscaping works.
An invitation to the tender was gazetted today. The closing time for the tender is noon on July 3, 2015.
The works are scheduled to commence in the latter half of this year for completion in 2019.
The CEDD has commissioned Hyder-Meinhardt Joint Venture to design and supervise the works. Interested contractors may obtain the tender forms and other particulars from the company at 47/F, Hopewell Centre, 183 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai.
