LegCo Panel on Education visits Hong Kong Institute of Education (with photos)

     The Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Education conducted a visit to The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) today (May 5) to better understand the latest development of HKIEd and its initiatives made to enhance the quality of teacher education.

     During the visit, Members met representatives of HKIEd's management and received a briefing on the latest development of HKIEd.  Members also exchanged views with HKIEd on its programme offerings, the attributes of its students and the employment situation of its graduates, as well as the initiatives taken to turn research findings into projects that benefit the community.

     Members then visited a few campus facilities of HKIEd, including the Digital Arts Lab and student halls in order to know more about the students' learning environment.  Members also met with student representatives to get to know their campus life.

     Members who participated in the visit included members of the Panel on Education, Dr Lam Tai-fai (Chairman), Mr Ip Kin-yuen (Deputy Chairman), Mr Charles Mok, Mr Chan Chi-chuen, Dr Kenneth Chan, Dr Helena Wong and Dr Chiang Lai-wan; as well as Ms Emily Lau who is a non-Panel member.
