Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tai Po this afternoon (May 4) in which a 43-year-old man died.
About 4.50pm, a private car driven by a 36-year-old expatriate man was travelling uphill Hong Lok Yuen Fifth Street. It reportedly crossed the opposite vehicular lane and knocked down the 43-year-old man who was conducting a roadwork on the pavement.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the man was rushed to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 5.44pm.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are underway.
