Stalker Theatre Company to perform visual feast of contemporary dance and aerial acrobatics (with photos)
******************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has invited Australia's Stalker Theatre Company to perform its acclaimed production "Encoded" for the "Dance x Multimedia Series" in June.

"Encoded" is a visually stunning work that creates a mesmerising immersive world of shimmering images that dissolve and reform as the performers sweep across the stage. It is an aerial dance performance, and uses the latest interactive technologies to construct a projected digital environment that responds to the movements of the performers. The production is a meditation on the fragility of space and our place within it. It explores how digitised space alters our perceptions of physical space, and how digital media change our relationship with the body. "Encoded" utilises interactive 3D images and audio technologies to dynamically revision public spaces in real time through synthesising live performance, immersive interactive image projection and audio-scapes. By utilising simulated fluid animations of particles and architecture as a mediating layer between performers' physical gestures and the images and sounds they generate, the performers blur the boundaries between physical and digital space.

According to the Sydney Arts Guide, " 'Encoded' is a powerful and hypnotic, at times almost trance-like work that combines fabulous contemporary dance, aerial acrobatics and the latest in computer images and technology."

Stalker Theatre Company is one of Australia's leading physical theatre companies.
