The Legislative Council (LegCo) Subcommittee on Issues Relating to the Development of Chinese Medicine conducted a visit to the Hong Kong Standards and Testing Centre (the Centre) at Tai Po this morning (April 27) to gain a better understanding of the testing of proprietary Chinese medicine.
Upon their arrival, Members watched a video introducing the service of the Centre and received a briefing on its testing services of Chinese medicine. They also learnt of the composition of the clients of the Centre, as well as the common difficulties encountered in the testing of proprietary Chinese medicine and their solutions.
Members then visited the facilities of the Centre and met its representatives at a sharing session to enhance their understanding of the work of the laboratories.
Members participating in the visit included the Chairman of the Subcommittee, Mr Chan Han-pan; Mr Wong Ting-kwong and Mr Cheung Kwok-che, who are Subcommittee members.
