**************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is inviting applications for the 2016 Community Cultural Ambassador Scheme.

The scheme aims to bring the arts into the community by encouraging local performing artists and arts groups to organise outreach arts activities throughout Hong Kong, so as to develop an interest in the performing arts among the general public or different community groups.

Applicants should be registered local non-profit-making performing arts groups or ensembles of artists that have been active in the past three years and possess actual experience in public performance of a high standard. Applicants may submit only one proposal for one of the following types of activities: (a) Audience building/arts education activities that are specifically designed for particular community groups or which will be conducted in specific districts. The Department also encourages arts groups/arts practitioners to submit proposals under the following special topics of the 2016 Community Cultural Ambassador Scheme: (i) Activities enhancing the participation of people with different abilities in performing arts including visual, auditory, physical, intellectual, developmental and mental disabilities; or (ii) Performing arts activities initiated from the idea of "family"; (b) Audience-building/arts-educational activities that are designed for the general public.

The proposal should cover one or more performing art forms, such as Chinese opera/operatic singing, dance, music, theatrical arts (including drama, mime, magic and puppetry) and multi-arts. Proposed projects may include one or a combination of the following types of activities: performance, workshop, episodic performance, demonstration, lecture and exhibition.
