The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) today (March 10) announced that the department collected 20 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) samples from auto-LPG filling stations and LPG terminals in February 2015 for laboratory tests. Among them, 10 random samples were collected on a routine basis while 10 were additional samples. The results showed that the LPG quality of all these samples complied with auto-LPG specifications.
"In view of the concern of the LPG vehicle trades about the LPG quality in late January, we have collected 83 additional samples from all of the auto-LPG filling stations and LPG terminals in Hong Kong since January 21. We will continue to maintain close contacts with the trades on the LPG quality," a spokesman for the EMSD said.
"The EMSD has been vetting independent third-party test reports submitted by LPG supply companies for each shipment to ensure that the quality of imported LPG complies with the specified requirements," he added.
