The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:
At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the President of the Legislative Council (LegCo), Mr Jasper Tsang, will visit Tokyo in Japan from March 9 to 13.
While in Tokyo, Mr Tsang will visit The National Diet of Japan. Mr Tsang believes that the visit will further strengthen the bilateral relations between the Legislatures of Hong Kong and Japan.
In addition to meeting different groups and paying visits to a number of corporations and organisations during his stay in Japan, Mr Tsang will deliver a speech at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan. He will also pay a courtesy call on the Acting Ambassador and Minister of the Embassy of People's Republic of China, Mr Han Zhiqiang, in Japan, and meet with Hong Kong people living in Tokyo.
Mr Tsang will be accompanied by the Secretary General of the LegCo Secretariat, Mr Kenneth Chen, on his visit to Japan.
