Relocation of SWD's Senior Citizen Card Office
**********************************************

The Senior Citizen Card Office (SCCO) of the Social Welfare Department (SWD) will be relocated to a new office starting from next Monday (March 16).

The new office is located at Room 2204, 22/F, Southorn Centre, 130 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. It will be more convenient to elderly persons as the new office is right above the MTR Wan Chai Station and accessible by a number of bus routes. Upon relocation, the SCCO's enquiry hotline will be changed to 3583 2959 while the fax number 2573 0079 will remain unchanged.

The Senior Citizen Card Scheme (SCCS), launched by the SWD in 1994, aims to promote a spirit of care and respect for the elderly. Hong Kong residents aged 65 or above are eligible for application. As at January 2015, the SWD had issued about 1.55 million Senior Citizen Cards. More than 90 per cent of eligible elderly persons in Hong Kong are Senior Citizen Card holders. About 2 600 companies and organisations with more than 7 900 outlets are participating in the SCCS, offering concessions, discounts or priority services to cardholders.

For more details on the Scheme, please visit the SWD website (www.swd.gov.hk/en/index/site_pubsvc/page_elderly/sub_csselderly/id_seniorciti/).
