Police will implement special traffic arrangements on February 19 (Thursday) to facilitate the holding of Lunar New Year Cup soccer match at the Hong Kong Stadium.
Traffic arrangements before the match
-------------------------------------
The following measures will be implemented from 1.15pm:
Phase I
A. Road closure
Caroline Hill Road between Cotton Path and Leighton Road/Pennington Street will be closed (except vehicles from Tung Lo Wan Road heading for St. Paul's Hospital).
B. Traffic diversion
1. Caroline Hill Road between Leighton Road and Stadium Path will be re-routed one-way southbound (an anti-clockwise system); and
2. Eastern Hospital Road between Stadium Path and Tung Lo Wan Road will be re-routed one-way northbound (an anti-clockwise system).
C. Passenger alighting arrangements
1. The drop-off zone for taxis will be at the southern kerbside of Eastern Hospital Road east of the Hong Kong Stadium main entrance; and
2. The drop-off zone for private cars will be at the northern kerbside of Eastern Hospital Road east of the Hong Kong Stadium. Private cars are not allowed to drop off passengers outside the main entrance of the Hong Kong Stadium.
Phase II
--------
A. Road closure
1. Same as Phase I¡F and
2. Westbound Hysan Avenue between Hoi Ping Road and Sunning Road.
B. Traffic diversion
1. Same as Phase I¡F
2. Caroline Hill Road between its western junction with Leighton Road and Link Road will have two traffic lanes for vehicles entering Caroline Hill Road from Hoi Ping Road;
3. Traffic from Link Road downhill to northbound Caroline Hill Road must turn left to westbound Leighton Road;
4. Hysan Avenue between Leighton Road and Hoi Ping Road will be re-routed one-way eastbound;
5. Eastbound Hysan Avenue will have two traffic lanes for vehicles turning right to Hoi Ping Road;
6. Traffic on westbound Hysan Avenue between Yun Ping Road and Sunning Road must turn left to Sunning Road;
7. Vehicles leaving the Lee Gardens must turn left to Hysan Avenue; and
8. Depending on traffic situation, Lee Garden Road between Foo Ming Street and Lan Fong Road may be re-routed one-way northbound. Traffic on Lan Fong Road must turn right to Lee Garden Road and then to Percival Street via Foo Ming Street.
C. Passenger alighting arrangements
Same as Phase I.
Phase III
---------
A. Road closure
1. Same as Phase II; and
2. Downhill section of northbound Link Road.
B. Traffic diversion
1. Same as Phase II¡Fand
2. If situation warrants, vehicles heading for the Hong Kong Stadium may be permitted to turn right from the offside lane of eastbound Leighton Road to Caroline Hill Road.
C. Passenger alighting arrangements
Same as Phase II.
Traffic arrangements after the match

The following measures will be implemented from 4.45pm if necessary:
A. Road closure
1. Caroline Hill Road;
2. Eastern Hospital Road and its service road near Buddhist Wong Fung Ling College;
3. Cotton Path;
4. Northbound Link Road downhill, except for vehicles heading for Link Road No. 1A, 3, 5 and 7;
5. Hoi Ping Road; and
6. Leighton Road.
B. Traffic diversion
1. Vehicles on Leighton Road cannot enter Caroline Hill Road for Link Road; and
2. When Leighton Road is closed, traffic from westbound Causeway Road will be directed to Irving Street; traffic from eastbound Morrison Hill Road will be diverted through Canal Road West; traffic from southbound Percival Street must turn right to westbound Leighton Road; and traffic from southbound Canal Road East cannot turn left to Leighton Road.
The following roads will be prohibited to all learner drivers between 12.15pm and 6.15pm:
1. Leighton Road;
2. Hysan Avenue;
3. Percival Street south of Hennessy Road;
4. Caroline Hill Road;
5. Link Road;
6. Stadium Path;
7. Cotton Path;
8. Eastern Hospital Road; and
9. Eastern Hospital Road service road.
In addition, learner drivers will not be allowed to enter Tung Lo Wan Road from Causeway Road.
All on-street parking spaces on the following roads will be suspended between 12.15pm and 6.15pm:
1. Stadium Path;
2. Northbound Caroline Hill Road between Stadium Path and Cotton Path; and
3. Hoi Ping Road (including disabled parking spaces).
Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements specified above might be towed away without prior notice.
Vehicles will not be permitted to leave car parks within the closed areas during the road closure periods.
Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to drive with care and patience and follow the instruction of the Police at scene.
