Hong Kong Customs today (January 29) arrested two outgoing passengers at Hong Kong International Airport and seized about one kilogramme of suspected methamphetamine with market value of about $0.46 million.
Officers of Customs Drug Investigation Bureau today arrested two passengers who were about to depart for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at the airport. The suspected drugs were found on the arrestees.
The 32-year-old man and 21-year-old woman, who claimed to be a construction worker and unemployed respectively, will be jointly charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at Tsuen Wan Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (January 30).
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offence and the maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
