Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Wong Tai Sin on January 21 night in which a 59-year-old woman was killed.
About 8pm that day, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 51-year-old man was travelling along Choi Hung Road northbound towards Tsz Wan Shan. When turning left to Tai Shing Street, the PLB reportedly knocked down the 59-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries in unconscious state, the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was certified dead at 12am on January 22.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in early February.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East are underway.
