A Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government delegation led by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, concludes its visit to Fujian Province today (January 24).
In the morning, Mrs Lam went to Xiamen Haicang Bonded Port Area to visit the Xiamen Ocean Gate Container Terminal Co Ltd to learn more about the latest developments in the Fujian free trade zone (Xiamen area). She received a briefing on the automated container handling system and the future development of container ports in Xiamen. This was followed by a visit to Kingtronics Group (Xiamen) Co Ltd, where Mrs Lam gained a better understanding of the development of Hong Kong enterprises in the Mainland.
Before leaving Fujian, Mrs Lam had lunch with Hong Kong people living in Xiamen. Among them were representatives of Hong Kong enterprises, Hong Kong professionals and Hong Kong students. In fact, the HKSAR Government places great emphasis on the career development opportunities of Hong Kong people in the Mainland. Principal Officials often arrange meetings with Hong Kong people working, doing business or studying in places where they are visiting to better understand the challenges they are facing and their issues of concern.
Mrs Lam and the delegation departed Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport for Hong Kong in the afternoon.
