Tsing Sha Highway Bus-Bus Interchange to commission on Saturday

     The Transport Department (TD) announced today (January 8) that the Tsing Sha Highway Bus-Bus Interchange (BBI) located at Tsing Sha Highway Toll Plaza will be commissioned on Saturday morning (January 10). Bus passengers can interchange at the BBI for New Territories East and urban areas upon its commissioning.   

     A total of nine bus routes will start calling at the BBI upon its commissioning, including two whole-day bus services and seven peak-only bus services. The routes include:

(I) Whole-day bus services

* KMB route 286X (Hin Keng ¡V Sham Shui Po (circular))
* KMB route 287X (Pok Hong ¡V Jordan (circular))

(II) Peak-only bus services

* KMB route 240X (Wong Nai Tau to Kwai Hing Station)
* KMB route 249X (Sha Tin Central ¡V Tsing Yi Station)
* KMB route 270B (Sheung Shui ¡V Shum Shui Po)
* KMB route 270P (Sheung Shui to Kowloon Station)
* KMB route 272P (Fu Heng to Cheung Sha Wan)
* KMB route 272X (Tai Po Centre to Mong Kok)
* KMB route 286C (Lee On ¡V Sham Shui Po (Yen Chow Street))

     Passengers interchanging at the BBI will only be charged the fare difference between the routes concerned, such that the total fare will be the same as the route of the higher fare.

     Shelters and mobile toilets have been installed at the BBI. In addition, the bus company concerned has installed and provided other facilities for passengers including windshields, seats, route information displays and a wi-fi network. At the same time, the bus company concerned has also installed the Estimated Bus Arrival Time System, making it easier for passengers to find the time of bus arrivals at the BBI.

     During the initial period after the commissioning, the TD will closely monitor the operation of the BBI and keep close contact with the bus company concerned for co-ordination of bus services.
