Application for purchase under the Home Ownership Scheme Flats 2014 to start on December 30 (with photos/video)

     The Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) announced today (December 22) that eligible applicants may submit applications for the purchase of flats under the Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) Flats 2014 from December 30, 2014 to January 12, 2015. Application forms will be available from tomorrow (December 23).

     Accompanied by the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, today paid a visit to Domain, a HA shopping centre in Yau Tong, to view the two unmodified show flats of the majority flat type for sale. The two show flats, located at the atrium of Domain, will be open to the public from 9am to 10pm from December 23 to January 18.

     Concurrently, virtual show flat walkthrough videos, physical doll houses and exhibition panels providing information on new HOS developments for sale will be displayed at Domain and the HOS Information Centre at the HA Customer Service Centre (HACSC) in Lok Fu. The Information Centre's opening hours will be from 8am to 7pm from December 23 onwards. The virtual show flat walkthrough videos can also be viewed by the public on the HA/Housing Department website at www.housingauthority.gov.hk.

     A total of 2,160 flats with saleable area ranging from 34.5 square metres to 47.5 square metres in five developments will be offered for sale, namely Mei Pak Court (288 flats) and Mei Ying Court (216 flats) in Sha Tin, Wang Fu Court (229 flats) in Yuen Long, Ching Chun Court (465 flats) in Tsing Yi and Sheung Chui Court (962 flats) in Tsuen Wan.

     By applying a discount of 30 per cent from the assessed market values, the selling prices of flats range from the lowest at $1,873,500 in Mei Pak Court to the highest at $3,264,600 in Sheung Chui Court (see table).

     "The application period will last from December 30, 2014 until 7pm on January 12, 2015. Applications submitted before the application period or after the closing time will not be accepted," said a spokesman for the HA.

     "Balloting is expected to be held in March 2015 to determine the priority of flat selection. Selection of flats by successful applicants is scheduled to start from May 2015."

     Starting seven days before commencement of the application period, i.e. December 23, the whole set of sales documents, including application forms and guides, sales brochures, price lists and sales arrangements can be obtained at the HACSC in Lok Fu. Members of the public can also download the documents from the websites designated for the five developments:

Wang Fu Court (www.housingauthority.gov.hk/WangFu);
Ching Chun Court (www.housingauthority.gov.hk/ChingChun); and

     In addition, during the application period from December 30 to January 12, application forms and pamplets together with sales arrangements can also be obtained during office hours from the Estate Offices and District Tenancy Management Offices of the HA, Estate Offices of the Hong Kong Housing Society, the Public Enquiry Service Centres of Home Affairs Department and the Shum Shui Po Housing Information Centre. Sales brochures of the five developments are also available for inspection at the above venues.
