The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will depart for Shanghai tomorrow (December 6) to attend the Shanghai-Hong Kong Co-operation Summit - New Frontiers and New Opportunities and deliver a keynote speech.
The Summit is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in China - Shanghai (HKCCC-Shanghai), the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The focus of the Summit is to examine new areas and opportunities for Hong Kong-Shanghai co-operation. It will also explore ways in which enterprises of both places can seize the opportunities in the present economic environment.
After the Summit, Mr So will attend the HKCCC-Shanghai's 2014 annual dinner and meet with Hong Kong people and representatives of Hong Kong enterprises in Shanghai.
Mr So will return to Hong Kong tomorrow night. During his absence, the Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Godfrey Leung, will be the Acting Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development.
