Correctional officers at Lo Wu Correctional Institution stopped a female remand person in custody assaulting a staff member today (December 4).
At 10.17am, the 33-year-old remand person in custody complained of abdominal pain and was referred to the centre hospital for treatment. An officer enquired about her condition and the remand person in custody assaulted the officer with her hand. Other officers at the scene immediately stopped the assault. The officer sustained minor injury on her arm and was treated at the centre hospital.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The person in custody was remanded for the offence of obtaining services by deception.
