Cross-media concert "Let Dreams Fly II... Over the Rainbow" to offer variety of music and visual entertainment

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present "Let Dreams Fly II... Over the Rainbow" by Mui Kwong Chiu Production in January next year.

"Let Dreams Fly II... Over the Rainbow" is a cross-media concert created by acclaimed composer Dr Mui Kwong-chiu and a number of local musicians. Following a similar theme - the pursuit of ideals in life - as that of his previous work "Let Dreams Fly" in 2013, this production comprises eight pieces: "Let Dreams Fly", "Against All Odds", "Sea Serenade", "Song for the Young", "Our Dreams", "Jungle Grand March", "Over the Rainbow" and "Rainbow Eyes".

Dr Mui will collaborate with highly accomplished musicians including master percussionist Dr Lung Heung-wing, pianist Nancy Loo, percussionists Choy Lap-tak and Mark Lung, cellist Eric Yip, winner of the Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival Ernie Leung, the Veloz Harmonica Quartet and narrator Jenny Lee. The concert will integrate elements of original music, live music, visuals and recitations, aiming to encourage teenagers to pursue their dreams with determination, and to stir artistic interaction by showing teenagers' drawings and writings in the performance.
Dr Mui Kwong-chi is a well-known composer in Hong Kong and his various cross-media works, Chinese orchestral pieces, and harmonica and choral works have won critical acclaim. Dr Mui has composed and arranged many commissioned works for local and overseas arts groups as well as music festivals, including the 2008 Olympic Torch Relay Ceremony, the 2009 East Asian Games Closing Ceremony and the Opening Ceremony of the Hong Kong Week at the 2010 Shanghai Expo (for which he was also appointed as music director).
