Transcript of remarks by STH

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, at a media session after attending a public function this (November 30) afternoon:

Reporter: Do you think on Monday that the students, if they break inside the Government Offices today, do you think on Monday it would affect the work of the Administration when officers come back to the Government? How do you warn the students...

Secretary for Transport and Housing: It is not for me to speculate what might happen. But as far as I am concerned, we would continue to operate within the CGO (Central Government Offices) at Tamar. For students, I always maintain the line that while they have every right to express their views about the future, about political reform, they must at the same time respect others and we should try to foster a tolerant society that we respect others while articulating our views. I think that kind of tolerance, that kind of allowance for different views is very important for Hong Kong. I think that is what Hong Kong is good for.
