The Chief Secretary for Administration and Chairperson of the CoP, Mrs Carrie Lam, said that, having considered views from members, the structure of the CoP will be adjusted in its second term, with the six Task Forces of the first term being streamlined to four. They are responsible for enhancing youth education, employment and training to promote upward mobility of youths from the grass roots, supporting the special needs groups, and administering the Community Care Fund and the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund. Members of the second-term Task Forces are mainly incumbent members. Several new members are appointed to enable the Task Forces to gauge more diverse views.

Mrs Lam took the opportunity to express her thanks to members of the Social Security and Retirement Protection Task Force and the Societal Engagement Task Force in the current term and other outgoing members of other Task Forces for their active participation in the work of their Task Forces and staunch support to the Government's strategies in poverty alleviation in the past two years. The CoP will deal with the subjects of social security and retirement protection as well as societal engagement direct in the coming term.

The terms of reference of the four Task Forces under the second term of the CoP are available at the CoP website (www.povertyrelief.gov.hk).
