The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (November 28) invited tenders for the contract for construction of lifts for public walkways on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon under the Universal Accessibility Programme.
The works mainly involve:
* construction of 16 lifts for four existing footbridges, two existing elevated walkways and two existing subways in Wan Chai District, Eastern District, Southern District, Kowloon City District, Kwun Tong District, Wong Tai Sin District and Yau Tsim Mong District;
* associated civil works, geotechnical works, electrical and mechanical works and modification works for existing structures; and
* ancillary works including road, drainage and landscaping works.
The works are scheduled to commence in April 2015 for completion in April 2018.
The CEDD has commissioned Parsons Brinckerhoff (Asia) Limited to investigate, design and supervise the works. Interested contractors may obtain the tender forms and other particulars from the company at 7/F, One Kowloon, 1 Wang Yuen Street, Kowloon Bay.
The invitation to tender was gazetted today. The closing time for the tender is noon on January 9, 2015.
