Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Yuen Long Theatre (YLT) X'mas Fun Day will be held from 2pm to 5.30pm on December 7 (Sunday) at the YLT's Theatre Avenue, foyer and rehearsal room. A variety of activities will be staged, offering delightful family entertainment for visitors to share the joy of Christmas. Admission is free.
Activities at Theatre Avenue will include band shows, guitar performances and choral performances, as well as a variety of dance performances including street dance, hip hop, popping dance and ethnic dance. Acrobatic performances and lion and dragon dances are also not to be missed. The performers are from various schools and district organisations including Pak Kau College, Hong Chi Morninghill School, Tuen Mun, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Tuen Mun Integrated Services Centre, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Jockey Club Tin Shui Wai Integrated Services Centre, Yan Chai Hospital 24th Term Board of Directors Social Services Centre, Yuen Long District Arts Committee, Yuen Long Town Hall Support Service Centre for Ethnic Minorities and Yuen Long Town Hall Yuen Long Children's Choir.
The venue partner, Theatre Noir Foundation, will hold a series of programmes at the YLT foyer and rehearsal room, including a face painting workshop, musical theatre performances, storytelling and sign language dance.
Other than watching the above performances, visitors can also participate in family activities and game booths, such as hand painting by minority groups by Yuen Long Town Hall Support Service Centre for Ethnic Minorities, a handicraft workshop by Yuen Long Church (Church of Christ in China) Limited Chow Sung Chu Oi Youth Centre, and a plant workshop by The Friends of Scouting Jockey Club Long Ping Service Centre for Children and Youth. Inflatables, interactive play zones and performances by roving artists also offer great activities for families.
