The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, today (November 24) spoke at the ICT Symposium on e-Accessibility. The symposium is part of the programme of the World Blind Union - Asia Pacific Mid-Term Regional General Assembly 2014. Mr So said Hong Kong has all along been a digital inclusive society and is committed to fostering the continual development of e-accessibility for people in need. To make it easier for the visually impaired to access online services and information, the Government promotes the wider adoption of web accessibility design in both public and private websites. It also provides funding support for developing information technology-based assistive tools and applications that cater for persons with different kinds of disabilities, he said.
