CE to visit Korea

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, will leave Hong Kong in the afternoon of November 25 for a duty visit to Korea. During his stay, Mr Leung will learn more about the economic situation and development of the innovation and technology industry of Korea. He will also meet with political and business leaders there.

     On November 26, Mr Leung will call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Korea, Mr Yun Byung-se, and the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning of Korea, Mr Choi Yang-hee. He will also visit a Korean entertainment company which promotes pop music and culture.

     Mr Leung will meet with the President of the Korea Creative Content Agency, Mr Hong Sang-pyo, and tour Dongdaemun Design Plaza and the Samsung Innovation Museum on the next day to learn more about the latest developments of the culture and creative industry as well as the innovation and technology industry of Korea. He will also address a luncheon hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Tokyo) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Korea International Trade Association where he will meet with local political and economic leaders.

     Accompanying Mr Leung on the visit will be the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr Edward Yau; the Director of Information Services, Mr Patrick Nip; and the Private Secretary to the Chief Executive, Mr Carlson Chan.

     Mr Leung will return to Hong Kong in the evening of November 27. During his absence, the Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, and the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, will be the Acting Chief Executive from the afternoon of November 25 to the morning of November 26 and from the afternoon of November 26 to November 27 respectively.
