The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, welcomed in Beijing today (November 10) the approval by the China Securities Regulatory Commission and the Securities and Futures Commission to the official launching of the pilot programme to provide mutual trading access between the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock markets (Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect)commencing next Monday (November 17).
The Chief Executive expressed his sincere thanks to the state leaders and the Central Government for trusting and supporting Hong Kong. While wishing the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect a smooth implementation, the Chief Executive believed that Hong Kong's financial market could make greater contribution to the reform and opening up of the country as well as the stability and prosperity of Hong Kong.
