CSSA caseload for September

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in September showed a drop of 903 cases, representing a decrease of 0.4 per cent when compared to that in August, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (October 22).

     The total CSSA caseload at the end of September stood at 255 535 (see attached table), with a total of 384 305 recipients.

     Analysed by case nature, low earnings cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 1.7 per cent to
8 023 cases. Unemployment cases and single parent cases both showed a decrease of 0.7 per cent to 19 386 cases and 29 993 cases respectively. Permanent disability cases also dropped by 0.3 per cent to 18 311 cases. Old age cases and ill-health cases both dropped by 0.1 per cent to 149 555 cases and 25 136 cases respectively.
