Police urge protestors on Lung Wo Road to stay calm and restrained
********************************************************

Police appeal to the protestors currently (October 15) gathering on Lung Wo Road to stay calm and restrained and express their views in a rational and peaceful manner.

About 9.45pm last night (October 14), the protestors gathering outside the Chief Executive¡¦s Office ran onto the carriageway at the junction of Lung Wo Road and Tim Wa Avenue suddenly, and thus causing blockage and severe traffic disruption in the vicinity. Police condemned such acts which endangered the safety of the participants themselves and the safety of other road users as well.

Police appeal to the protestors not to charge Police cordon line and return to the pavement nearby as soon as possible. Protestors advancing against Police cordon line even with their arms raised is not a peaceful act.

Police respect the public¡¦s freedoms of expression, speech and assembly. Members of the public should comply with the laws of Hong Kong and maintain social order when expressing their views.
