Take a journey to Alice's Wonderland to learn English

The following is issued on behalf of the Standing Committee on Language Education and Research:

     The Standing Committee on Language Education and Research (SCOLAR) is inviting Primary 5 to Secondary 1 students and their families to join a free English language activity, namely "English Alliance 2014/15 - Alice in Wonderland: The Immersive Experience", on October 12 (Sunday).

     "Alice in Wonderland: The Immersive Experience" is an English language activity for students and families that is the first of its kind in Hong Kong. It offers an interesting and imaginative immersive journey to the Wonderland with a native-speaking English cast to read different English text types and to meet and interact with Alice and many other characters of the classic story "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland".

     Details of the activity are as follows:

Time: 55 minutes per session (first session starts at 9am)

Venue: ArtisTree, 1/F Cornwall House, TaiKoo Place, Island East

No. of participants: 40 per session

     Primary 5 to Secondary 1 students and their families are most welcome to join this free English language activity presented by SCOLAR English Alliance 2014/15. The deadline for enrolment has been extended to October 3. Please visit www.language-education.com for more details. Places are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

     Established in 1996, SCOLAR has been organising and supporting various programmes and activities to promote biliteracy and trilingualism in Hong Kong. English Alliance is a territory-wide project launched by SCOLAR in the 2008/09 school year to arouse students' interest in English language learning and to improve their English language use. Over the past few years, a wide range of English language programmes and activities have been organised for students and teachers in primary and secondary schools.
