Fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsuen Wan this afternoon (September 24) in which a 55-year-old woman was killed.
 
     About 1.05pm, a taxi driven by a 57-year-old man was traveling along Sha Tsui Road towards Kowloon. When reaching the junction of Sha Tsui Road and Tso Kung Street, it reportedly collided with a private car driven by a 21-year-old man traveling in the opposite direction. The taxi then lost control and rammed onto the pavement and knocked down the 55-year-old female pedestrian.
  

     The woman was trapped under the taxi and was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state after being rescued by firemen. She was certified dead at 3.05pm. A 17-year-old female and an 18-year-old male taxi passenger, as well as the private car driver were also rushed to Yan Chai Hospital.
 
     The private car driver was arrested for dangerous driving and is being detained for enquiries.
      
     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South, are underway.
