Li Fei, Zhang Rongshun and Feng Wei attend briefing session on constitutional development in HK (with photos)

     The Deputy Secretary-General of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPCSC), Mr Li Fei; the Vice-Chairperson of the Legislative Affairs Commission of the NPCSC, Mr Zhang Rongshun; and the Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, Mr Feng Wei, came to Hong Kong to attend a briefing session on the constitutional development of Hong Kong at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong International Airport, this morning (September 1).

     The briefing was jointly organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR. Members of the Legislative Council, chairmen and vice-chairmen of the District Councils, Hong Kong deputies to the National People's Congress, Hong Kong members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and people from different sectors of the community were invited.

     In the afternoon, Mr Li and the delegation attended an internal briefing session at the Central Government Offices at Tamar for Members of the Executive Council and senior government officials.

     This was followed by a press conference at the Auditorium of the Central Government Offices chaired by Mr Li.

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, hosted a dinner for Mr Li and the delegation at Government House in the evening.

     Mr Li and the delegation will leave Hong Kong tomorrow (September 2).
