CSSA caseload for July

     The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in July showed a drop of 336 cases, representing a decrease of 0.1 per cent, when compared to that in June, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (August 20).

     The total CSSA caseload at the end of July stood at 256 878 (see attached table), with a total of 392 558 recipients.

     Analysed by case nature, low earnings cases and unemployment cases both registered month-to-month decreases of 0.9 per cent to 8 204 cases and 19 706 cases respectively. Old age cases also dropped by 0.1 per cent to 149 879 cases.

     Permanent disability cases and ill-health cases both showed slight increases of 0.1 per cent to 18 396 cases and 25 144 cases respectively. Single parent cases also showed a slight increase of 0.3 per cent to 30 296 cases.
