SIRO-A Spectacle Projection Mapping Show from Japan to be staged in September
**********************************************************

The "Boundless Multimedia" Series presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department will open in September with SIRO-A Spectacle Projection Mapping Show, a production by the stylish performing group SIRO-A from Sendai in Japan.

Six members of SIRO-A will interact with technology through dance, comedy and shadow-puppetry in this interactive multimedia physical theatre programme. The show will take the audience to a dreamlike virtual world. Spectacular projection mapping produced by SIRO-A as well as lighting animation, stunning laser effects and pulsating electro beats will feature in several scenes with breathtaking optical illusions, sound and light, creating a feast for the senses. SIRO-A will flex their finest techno muscles with a Japanese-style sense of humour and seamlessly break language barriers with a non-verbal performance that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

SIRO-A was founded in 2002. The name SIRO represents white or colourless in Japanese and refers to "belong to no group, impossible to define as anybody". Fusing techno music, groundbreaking visual effects and amusing human body movement, the group creates mind-blowing live entertainment for the younger generation. In 2005, they received the Bronze Award at the 7th GEISHA, an arts festival initiated by the Japanese artist Takashi Murakami. In 2010, they performed at the Summer Sonic music festival and an event in the Japan Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo. In 2011, they won the Spirit of the Fringe Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and they started their European tour of Germany, Denmark, Austria, Switzerland and France in 2012. They performed at the Digital Performing Arts Festival in Taipei last year.

SIRO-A Spectacle Projection Mapping Show will be staged at 8pm on September 12 and 13 (Friday and Saturday) and at 3pm on September 13 and 14 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Theatre of Sheung Wan Civic Centre.
