Transcript of remarks by CS at media session (with photos/video)
***************************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, at a media session after meeting with Legislative Council members to exchange views on constitutional development at the Central Government Offices this afternoon (July 23):

Reporter: Chief Secretary, do you feel that you're closer to forging a consensus after this meeting?

Chief Secretary for Administration: Not really. The purpose of the meeting basically on the request of the pan-democratic members is two-fold. First is for them to continue to express the view on three of the main topics that they have raised with us previously, that is on the "three-track nomination", on the 2016 Legislative Council formation (method) and also on what they call the "international standards". The second part, or the second purpose, of the meeting is for us to listen to their request for meetings with officials of the Central Authorities responsible for constitutional development in Hong Kong. And on this second purpose, our purpose, our function today, is really to listen very attentively to their wishes so that we can truthfully reflect their requests and their views to the Central Authorities.
