The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting delegation of the Budget Committee of the House of Representatives of the National Diet of Japan led by its Chairman, Mr Toshihiro Nikai, at the Chief Executive's Office this afternoon (July 22) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr Leung said that Hong Kong and Japan enjoy close ties in a number of areas such as economic affairs and trade, culture and tourism. He said he hopes that the two places will continue the frequent exchanges and co-operation on various fronts.
Mr Leung pointed out that Hong Kong is an international financial and trade centre and encouraged more Japanese enterprises to set up and expand businesses here and leverage the city's advantages.
