London ETO once again supports dragon boat festival in London (with photos)

     London citizens participated in the London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival at the London Regatta Centre in the Royal Albert Dock on June 29 (London time).

     The festival was sponsored by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London, and organised by the London Chinatown Lions Club, with the support of the London Chinatown Chinese Community Centre and the Hong Kong Executives Club.

     The Director-General of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London, Ms Erica Ng, said "Today we have 36 dragon boat teams taking part in a thrilling and spectacular competition.  I am very glad that the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office is once again sponsoring the London Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival."

     "Dragon boat racing symbolises strength, energy, determination and competitiveness that embody Hong Kong's 'can-do spirit'.  I hope you will visit Hong Kong to experience first-hand our intense passion for dragon boat racing and our unique fusion of Eastern and Western cultures," Ms Ng said.

     As well as a full day of racing, the festival also featured a blend of entertainment activities including a food festival, music and dance performances, traditional Chinese lion dance as well as luck draw.
