"Hong Kong 2013" to go on sale (with photos)

     The Government's latest Yearbook, "Hong Kong 2013", will go on sale tomorrow (June 30).

     The book provides an in-depth account of government policy and activities and an overview of Hong Kong life and developments in 2013.

     Containing a wealth of facts and figures about Hong Kong, including over 40 tables of statistics and an endpaper map showing Hong Kong's climate, the Yearbook offers an invaluable source of information on Hong Kong.

     The Yearbook's 21 chapters cover subjects including Hong Kong's constitution and legal system, the economy, commerce and industry, employment, education, health and social welfare, the environment, recreation, sport, culture and the arts.

     The front cover shows "Mariner of the Seas", the first ship to berth at the new Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in Kowloon.

     "Hong Kong 2013" features more than 110 photographs in 12 photo sections on events, people and places in Hong Kong, including sections on the harbour, rail transport then and now, long-distance hiking trails, behind the scenes at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, birds, exhibitions and festivals and celebrations.

     English and Chinese editions of "Hong Kong 2013" and other government publications can be bought at the Information Services Department's Publications Sales Unit, Room 626, 6/F, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point.

     The price for the Yearbook is $312 but it will be offered at the 25 per cent discounted price of $234 to people purchasing the book at the Hong Kong Book Fair from July 16-22.
