CS to visit Malaysia

     The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, will visit Malacca, Kuala Lumpur and Penang in Malaysia from June 3 to 6 (Tuesday to Friday).

     During her visit to Malaysia, Mrs Lam will call on senior government officials to strengthen bilateral ties. She will meet with representatives of major chambers of commerce to promote opportunities in Hong Kong for Malaysian companies. She will also deliver a keynote speech at a forum to promote regional co-operation between Hong Kong and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

     Mrs Lam will officiate at the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Hong Kong's Evolving Harbour" and a travel fair to introduce the latest developments along the shorelines of Victoria Harbour and promote tourism in Hong Kong. She will also officiate at the opening ceremony of the "Spotlight Hong Kong in Penang" festival to promote cultural exchanges. During the festival, she will speak at a symposium to share Hong Kong's experience in heritage conservation. She will also take the opportunity to meet with Hong Kong people living and working in Malaysia.

     Mrs Lam will return to Hong Kong on June 7. During her absence, the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, will act as Chief Secretary for Administration.
