Approved Cheung Chau Outline Zoning Plan amended

     The Town Planning Board today (April 11) announced amendments to the approved Cheung Chau Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

     The amendments mainly involve the rezoning of a site at Ping Chong Road from "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Shipyard and Ship Repairing Workshop" to "Commercial (3)" to facilitate restaurant use, and two sites at Fa Peng Road from "Government, Institution or Community (4)" to "Residential (Group C) 7", "Residential (Group C) 8" and "Green Belt" and from "Residential (Group C) 5" to "Residential (Group C) 8" to facilitate residential developments and conserve the natural vegetation. Opportunity is also taken to update the Notes and Explanatory Statement to reflect the above amendments and to update the general information on various land use zones where appropriate.

     The draft Cheung Chau OZP No. S/I-CC/6 incorporating the amendments is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters of the Planning Department in North Point and Sha Tin, the Sai Kung and Islands District Planning Office, the Islands District Office and its Cheung Chau Sub-office, and the Cheung Chau Rural Committee.

     Any person can make written representation in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Town Planning Board on or before June 11. Representations made to the Town Planning Board will be available for public inspection.
