Promising choreographer Hugo Cho to stage "Made in Hong Kong"
********************************************************

Young Hong Kong choreographer Hugo Cho will stage his latest work, entitled "Made in Hong Kong", in May and June.

"Made in Hong Kong" stems from questions asked by men born in the 1980s: How hard do they need to work in order to achieve independence when they reach 30? And is society moving too fast or are they moving too slowly? Perhaps they need to look at things from another angle so that they can feel they are living, not merely surviving.

The production is choreographed by Cho, who will also perform with other performers including Henry Shum, Lee Long-hin, Dolly Lam and Marco Ng.

Hugh Cho graduated from the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts in 2009, majoring in contemporary dance. During his studies he was awarded many scholarships. Cho applies skills in hip-hop and modern dance to explore the fusion of different styles and the quality of dance. He has worked with many local choreographers, including Yuri Ng, Abby Chan, Ong Yong Lock, Pewan Chow, Jacky Yu and Victor Ma, and is now a resident artist with Unlock Dancing Plaza.

"Made in Hong Kong" is one of the programmes in the New Force in Motion series presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. It will be staged at 8pm on May 30 and 31 (Friday and Saturday) and 3pm on May 31 and June 1 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Black Box Theatre of Kwai Tsing Theatre. Tickets priced at $160 (free seating) are now available at URBTIX outlets, on the Internet and by credit card telephone booking. Half-price tickets are available for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and their minders, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients (limited tickets for CSSA recipients available on a first-come, first-served basis). A maximum discount of 20 per cent is offered for the group booking package. A meet-the-artists session will be held after the first performance.
