Attempted murder case in Cheung Sha Wan reclassified as murder

    Police today (April 8) reclassified an attempted murder case happened in Cheung Sha Wan on April 4 as murder.

    Police arrested a 37-year-old man on April 4 in connection with the attempted murder case that afternoon in which his 67-year-old mother-in-law was found lying unconsciously in a unit in Mei Foo Sun Chuen. The woman was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital for medical treatment and was subsequently certified dead at 3.34am today. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

    The arrestee was holding charged with one count of attempted murder on April 6 and appeared before Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts yesterday (April 7).

    Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Sham Shui Po District are under way.
