LegCo Members meet with Heung Yee Kuk Councillors (with photos)

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

     To enable Members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) to discuss and exchange views with Heung Yee Kuk Councillors on matters of mutual interest, meetings of LegCo and Heung Yee Kuk have been arranged regularly.

     A meeting was held today (March 20) in Conference Room 1 of the LegCo Complex for LegCo Members to meet with Heung Yee Kuk Councillors.

     During the meeting, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with Heung Yee Kuk Councillors on issues relating to problems of land use planning and land development in the New Territories, amendments on the existing laws on adverse possession of land to protect private property rights, plans for strategic landfills and incinerators in the New Territories, development of villages in the New Territories, and new development plans in the New Territories.

     The meeting was convened by Mr Andrew Leung, Chairman of the LegCo House Committee, and attended by Mr Tam Yiu-chung, Mr Abraham Shek, Mr Tommy Cheung, Mr Frederick Fung, Mr Wong Ting-kwong, Ms Starry Lee, Mr Chan Hak-kan, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Mr Paul Tse, Mr Michael Tien, Mr James Tien, Mr Ng Leung-sing, Mr Steven Ho, Mr Chan Chi-chuen, Mr Chan Han-pan, Dr Elizabeth Quat, Mr Martin Liao, Dr Lo Wai-kwok and Mr Tony Tse.
