Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a media session before the Executive Council meeting today (March 18):
Reporter: Mr Leung, any comments on Carrie Lam's breakfast meeting with legislators and is there any further development on the Shanghai trip?
Chief Executive: This breakfast meeting, which is the first of the series, is a very useful platform, together with the platform that we've created in Shanghai in the form of visit to Shanghai by all members - the invitation is to all members of Legislative Council - for members of Legislative Council to meet with not just Hong Kong government officials, but also, for example, at this morning's breakfast meeting with officials of the Central People's Government Liaison Office in Hong Kong, and on the Shanghai trip with Director Wang Guangya and also Li Fei. I appeal to all members of Legislative Council to use these platforms and opportunities to air their views so that the Central People's Government, the Hong Kong Government and the Legislative Councillors could reach as much as possible and as quick as possible a consensus on matters relating to the political reform.
