EPD to hold briefing on community green stations

     The Environmental Protection Department will hold a briefing next Saturday (February 22) for non-profit organisations interested in a new environmental initiative titled "Community Green Stations". Other stakeholders and local people are also welcome to attend.

     The briefing will be held between 2.30pm and 4.30pm at the Auditorium, Duke of Windsor Social Service Building, 15 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai. Interested parties should register on or before February 20 by emailing their name, contact number and name of organisation (if applicable) to rsvp.cgs@epd.gov.hk. The briefing session will be conducted in Cantonese. For enquiries, please call 2594 6198 during office hours.

     The Chief Executive announced in the 2014 Policy Address that the Government plans to develop a community green station in each of the 18 districts and provide funding for their operation. By way of tender, these stations will be operated by non-profit organisations  to enhance environmental education and help collect different types of recyclable in the local community, with a view to promoting green living at the community level.
